Life Cycle Overview
- GaiaKraft is a tree-free paper that is mostly made up of mineral powder – Calcium Carbonate (CaC03) that is bound together with a small percentage of non-toxic resin – Polyethylene (PE). The Calcium Carbonate, which mostly comes from the construction industry as waste material, is ground to a fine powder that is then combined with the PE that acts as binding agent to create a strong sustainable substrate.
- Calcium Carbonate is the fifth most abundant element with an ore recovery ratio of 94%. The PE is non-toxic and is partly post-industrial recycled.
Eco-Friendly Production process:
GaiaKraft products are produced without
- Water
- Bleach
- Acid
- Toxic Emissions
- Liquid Effluence
Both the process and the final product are very clean and non-polluting.
Energy Consumption during Production: GaiaKraft
Uses ½ the energy as that used by wood-pulp paper in the production process.

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Release Comparison
GaiaKraft is environmentally friendly in terms of production and disposal. The Carbon Dioxide
released is approximately 50% less than wood pulp paper products. Click here for a comparison table
