Characteristics

GaiaKraft is a tree-free paper that is mostly made up of mineral powder that is bound together with a small percentage of non-toxic resin. GaiaKraft® is tree-free, thus protecting our forests and our environment and yet, is similar in characteristics to traditional wood pulp paper with a tensile and tear ratio of 1:1 and 2:1.
GaiaKraft is produced without the use of water, acid or bleach. The production process does not generate any toxic emissions or water waste. The unused or surplus production can easily be recycled into new paper.
GaiaKraft is water-resistant and being a tree-free paper and essentially fibreless, it does not absorb ink and therefore prints with 20-30% less ink as compared to traditional wood-pulp paper. The result is extremely sharp and crisp images.
GaiaKraft is degradable and due to its high mineral content safely degrades when left out in
nature over a period of 6 to 9 months. It can be safely incinerated and the process does
not generate any harmful or poisonous gases.
